Most recently, Rob Cerbone was Vice President and General Manager for Intelsat’s Media business unit. In this role, he was the executive responsible for the development of Intelsat’s linear and non-linear media strategy, including developing solutions to streamline distribution across various global platforms. In addition, he managed the existing portfolio of satellite distribution, contribution, occasional use and managed services delivered to cable programmers, broadcasters, and DTH operators.
Prior to Intelsat, Rob was the Vice President, Wireless Product Management and Product Marketing within Time Warner Cable’s residential Broadband Services organization. In this role, Rob was responsible for the overall strategy and general management of TWC’s wireless product portfolio, including Home WiFi and TWCWiFi™. With regard to TWC’s primary out of home wireless offering, TWCWiFi, Rob led the team that executed the planning, market development, deployment, product development, and product marketing activities. He also oversaw the launch of TWC’s wifi roaming partnerships including roaming through CableWiFi® and Boingo. In addition to managing the Wifi portfolio, Rob led the efforts for two of the TWC’s mobile applications (My TWC and WiFi Finder). He also managed TWC’s previous mobile services, including TWC Mobile Internet and their agency relationship with Verizon Wireless. Previously, Rob led product management activities for a number of TWC’s online entertainment products associated with the Road Runner web portal including video, radio, games and photos.
Before joining Time Warner Cable, Rob worked with Nextel Communications (later Sprint) in their Innovative Technologies organization leading the evaluation of next generation content and media platforms for 4G and converged wireless networks. Prior to Nextel, Rob worked for an early stage venture capital fund targeting companies developing communications software and services. Rob began his career in management consulting with Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers working on a broad range of consulting engagements in the telecommunications, media and entertainment industries.
